The Dan Merritt L2457 Memorial Benevolent Fund is a benevolent subgroup of IAFF Local 2457 Missoula Rural Fire Fighters. While closely affiliated with Local 2457, the Benevolent Fund operates as a separate fund through which donations are raised and distributed in direct support of its mission, with the insight, suggestion and guidance of all L2457 members.

This Fund was established to honor the memory and legacy of Dan Merritt, whose service, commitment, and dedication to others exemplified values of the fire service and our local brotherhood.

This fund is dedicated to assisting our members, their families, first responders and the community at large. Through this fund, we strive to uphold the principles of integrity, courage, resilience, and community—ensuring that when hardship arises, no one stands alone
